A few key points when working with flashcards:
Point to the BEAT, not the rhythm.
Students begin by echoing and saying French rhythm syllables then gradually move (over subsequent lessons) to reading and performing the rhythm patterns without the assistance of the teacher.
The teacher never says the rhythm WITH the students. Rather, the teacher performs FOR the students, the students perform FOR the teacher!
