Welcome to this new series covering most of the European railway scene spanning a period of around 5 + years from the middle of 1995. All filmed in high quality SVHS and later with a 3 ccd broadcast camera, with full stereo. Countries covered in this series are France (SNCF), Austria (OBB), Belgium (SNCB/NMBS), Czech Republic (CD), Denmark (DSB), Germany (DB DR), Hungary (MAV GySEV), Italy (FS), Luxembourg (CFL), Netherlands (NS), Poland (PKP), Portugal (CP), Locomotive only from Slovakia (ZSR), Spain (RENFE), Switzerland (SBB CFF FFS), (not in this series but into the digital age is Croatia, already uploaded onto the channel)

Upon my return from visiting The Somme region on Northern France I visited the modern station of Calais Frethun on the High Speed line from UK to France/Belgium. In the distance could be seen the Le Shuttle trains transversing the large loop at Frethun carrying cars and commercial vehicles. The Eurostar trains whipped by on the high speed lines above the slower lines which carried the more local passenger services. All in all a rather surprisingly interesting location.
