Can You Visit Spain in Just 1 Day? (Manchester to Mallorca!)

Описание: Extreme day trip from Manchester to Palma de Mallorca, Spain for 10 hours! ✈️
Our flight left at 6:00 AM, and for parking we used JustPark (£7 all day) — super easy and close to the airport.

After landing, the weather was a warm 22°C, and we took the A1 Bus to Palma city centre (€5 one way / €8 return).

Our first stop was Passeig del Born and Parc de la Mar, surrounded by palm trees and sea views. Right next to it stands the iconic Catedral-Basílica de Santa María de Mallorca — originally built on the site of a mosque when Palma (then called Madina Mayurqa) was under Muslim rule from 902 to 1229. Entry ticket: €10.

We then visited the Arab Baths (€3.50, cash only) — small but fascinating to see one of the few remaining examples of Islamic architecture in Mallorca.

Next was the Royal Palace of La Almudaina (€7), once a Moorish fortress and later converted into a royal residence. While most rooms are empty, the architecture and views are stunning.

We also noticed many street vendors selling imitation bags and shirts around busy areas.

Later, we walked through Plaça Major and then the Mercat de l’Olivar, a lively indoor market where we enjoyed some delicious ice cream.
We continued through the Jewish Quarter, with its narrow streets and charming old houses, and discovered Can Catlar del Llorer, believed to have Muslim-era foundations — the oldest house in Palma!

We then visited Mosque Abderrahman, where we found plenty of halal food options nearby and offered our prayers.

Finally, we relaxed at the beach — a perfect way to end the day before heading back to the airport.
Our flight back was delayed by an hour, and we reached Manchester around 1:30 AM — tired but happy after one of the best day trips ever! 🌴
