Описание: Ramsbottom Heritage Society is the proud and happy winner of a grant from ‘The Millennium Festival Awards for All' - which aims to fund small projects organised by local not-for profit groups enabling them to bring together people in the Community to enjoy arts, sports and heritage, in order to mark the Millennium.
After many months of very hard work and planning the Award of £4,324 will be used to mount 'The Ramsbottom Millennium Festival' on Saturday 24th June 2000. Main activities will centre on Market Place, the heart of the town, and will include a cherished vehicle show, an outdoor stage with full professional lighting and sound to present a concert with a Silver Band and a local Rock Group. Children from eight schools will perform historical and musical items and the Youth Theatre and School of Dance will stage excerpts from their most recent productions.
This to be hosted by local resident. B.B.C. T.V. Presenter Martin Henfield who launched the event at a presentation at the Grant Arms on Friday 10th March 2000 when he presented the Lottery Award to the Ramsbottom Heritage Society Chairman Mrs. Dorothy Moss.
