Memories, 37 Bridge Street, Ramsbottom

Описание: The fund for the new chapel was started by a gentleman with £20 and he let the society have the land at one penny per yard chief rent. The chapel measured 24′(w) x 30′(l) x 21′(h). Ramsbottom Primitive Methodist Chapel in the Bolton Circuit was opened on 1st September 1833 – but as the day was so wet the opening day was repeated once everything had dried out. The event was described by S. Tillotson.
1851 Census – Primitive Methodist Church, Ramsbottom, erected 1833, 120 free sittings and 100 others. Sunday, 30th March 1851, Morning – 72 Scholars, Afternoon - 38 Congregation and 65 Scholars and Evening - 47 Congregation. William Platt, Secretary.
1854 Directory of Mid Lancs – Primitive Methodists have a chapel in Bridge Street, erected in 1833, at a cost of £250, and enlarged in 1852, at a cost of £240. This Chapel is used as Day and Sunday School.
1871 Grant Lawson Estate lease 269, 19th April 1871, Trustees of Primitive Methodist Chapel, including 37 Bridge Street, 596 square yards, £5 10s 0d yearly rent.
1893 - “Primitive Methodist Chapel….Now Mr. Holmes' Furniture Warehouse and Ramsbottom Observer Office.”

1973 – Job Centres started to open nationally.
1970s/80s - The Job Centre
1990 – The Job Centre closed and moved to the Bury Office.
1990 – Antiques Centre opens.
2006 - Memories Antiques, 37 Bridge Street.
2020/21 – Memories Antiques, closed for most of the year because of the Covid pandemic.
Present - Memories Antiques, 37 Bridge Street.
