This episode of the Signpost Series which took place on Friday, 27 February focused on 'Integrating Agroforestry on Irish Farms - A Farmer's Perspective'.
Joining webinar host Mark Gibson, Head of Teagasc Outreach & Innovation Department in studio was Brian Nicholson, Kilkenny sheep farmer and Sheep Enterprise Winner in the Teagasc/FBD Environmental Sustainability Awards 2024; Terry Carroll, Teagasc Drystock Advisor; and Frances McHugh & John Casey, Teagasc Forestry Development Department.
The panel were also joined by Michael Healy-Rae TD, Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.
Brian shared his experiences of incorporating agroforestry into his farming system and the linkages between forestry and other schemes including BISS, organics, ACRES etc.
