NPC SEEKS STRONGER PARTNERSHIP WITH MINISTRY OF FINANCE TO STRENGTHEN DEMOGRAPHIC DATA SYSTEMS
The Chairman of National Population Commission (NPC), Dr. Aminu Yusuf, has called for deeper collaboration between the Commission and the Federal Ministry of Finance to develop sustainable financing frameworks that will ensure reliable funding for population data systems in Nigeria.
Dr. Yusuf made the call ON Friday, 6th March 2026, during a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Abuja.
He emphasized that stronger synergy with the Ministry would help secure adequate and timely budgetary allocations for key NPC programmes, including the population and housing censuses, Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS), national demographic sample surveys, and the implementation of the National Population Policy for Sustainable Development.
Dr. Yusuf explained that the visit was aimed at deepening institutional cooperation between the NPC and the Ministry in advancing national planning and economic management through credible demographic data.
