Kevin Alexander has been called the Wayne Gretzky of lacrosse because of his stick prowess and scoring ability. He was inducted into the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1991 after retiring from Box Lacrosse in 1986. In the last year of his Junior career – 1976 – he lead Victoria to winning the Minto Cup and was named MVP of the tournament.
He actually played his first Senior game at age 13 when Victoria was short players one night.
He won the Senior WLA Scoring Championship six times from 1980-5. Alexander had been named WLA Outstanding Rookie in 1977. In 1986, he was ranked fourth in all-time scoring, despite a shorter career than those ahead of him.
On the international front, Alexander represented Canada 4 times winning All World Team and Best Midfielder honours in 1986.
He returned to play two seasons with the NLL Buffalo Bandits in 1992-3 helping the team to the League Championship both years.
