This is a project that attempts to replace GPS RTK/cube orange autopilot ($800) with VSLAM running on Raspberry Pi 2GB + camera ($80) for precision autonomous navigation
The code does 3 things -
1. Distance calculation
2. Turn 90/drive forward into new row, turn 90
3. Compare the current row (rotated 180) to the previous row to ensure the rows are parallel
Because the scope of VSLAM is so simplified it can run on really cheap hardware (less than $80). This video covers the concepts, code overview and assembly of the wheeled robot.
