Ammar Yasar is currently placed as a Humphrey Fellow in the Special Program in Urban and Regional Studies (SPURS) at Ashdown House, MIT. Prior to joining MIT, he pursued his LUMS MBA and focused his career as a senior Project Manager with Infrastructure Development Authority of the Punjab.

About Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship:
The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program brings accomplished mid-career professionals with demonstrated leadership potential to the United States for a year of graduate-level non-degree academic coursework and professional development activities. This ten month program consists of academic coursework and internship in a relevant professional organization. Approximately 18 campuses have been selected through a competitive process to host fellows in group with thematic and subject affinities.

Ammar shared some personal impressions about the fellowship. Along with stories such as how his employer asked him to look up the details for this fellowship. They then compared notes/instructions, and instead of his employer applying (original intention), he ended up applying and getting fellow'ed! Talk about supportive people but also 'even if you don't have that kind of support, apply and try.'
