🏃♂️ Easy Long Run | 12 km of Flow, Calm & Runner’s High
Today’s run was a 12 km easy long run, completed in around 1 hour 20 minutes and it felt surprisingly good.
Somewhere between 8 and 10 km, I slipped into that rare and beautiful feeling runners love i.e. runner’s high. The pace felt comfortable, the breathing stayed relaxed, and it felt like I could just keep going. There was no struggle, no urge to check the watch, and no pressure to chase numbers.
When I finished the run, I wasn’t tired at all, especially compared to my last long run. This was one of those sessions that reminds you how a long run is supposed to feel: easy, controlled, and enjoyable. No gasping for breath, no forcing the pace, just moving naturally and listening to the body.
For this run, I intentionally didn’t focus on time or pace. I let the body decide, following whatever felt right in the moment. That choice made all the difference.
The conditions were perfect - pleasant weather, a gentle breeze, birds chirping, and calm canal water flowing beside the path. Running through nature like this makes everything slow down and fall into rhythm.
This run was a reminder that progress doesn’t always come from pushing harder — sometimes it comes from running easier.
