Tiege Hanley is trying to keep up. Running a million miles an hour. Dealing with crazy, nutso changes. Adjusting on the fly. Yes, it's certainly a GOOD problem to have... and exciting too. But, a lot of stress goes along with the territory as well.

Starting a Business | Building a Brand
Forecasting and Projections
Tiege Hanley doesn't have the convenience of forecasting and creating projections based on a previous year because there hasn't been one. Tiege Hanley has done a good job at forecasting, however, when promotions are implemented, sales may increase beyond what has been forecasted. Compounding the forecasting and projection challenges, the subscription model is a rolling wave of inventory.

Inventory Management
Sales actually have been 'killing it', so as a result another, another product order has been placed and another packaging order needs to be placed. Tiege Hanley's goal is to get through the end of the year with one huge packaging order so that concerns of running out will be greatly reduced or eliminated.

Human Resources Growing Pains
Further growing pains are being experienced with human resources. In shipping, Mario pre-packages and racks domestic levels and then international levels. Thereafter, Anthony arrives to print labels for these boxes and then ships them. The problem is that so many boxes are getting sent out, Mario can't keep up. He's able to pre-package that day but never gets ahead. Further, if Mario is unable to work (for example, sick), Kelley will be in a world of hurt. Tiege Hanley is also mindful of Anthony. He's going to med school in May. Tiege Hanley is seeking to hire an additional packer and a customer service / shipping position.

The 'Raising Capital' Conundrum
Regardless of success, Tiege Hanley is capital intensive with cash tied-up in inventory and purchase orders. They always need access to cash such as AMEX, a line of credit with Kelley's bank, or Aaron's banker Mike. Tiege Hanley is still very apprehensive about giving up equity to raise capital. Relinquishing equity on a project on which you have worked so hard is a bitter pill to swallow. Paying interest rather than giving up equity is ideal. Sometimes you can't get that loan so you have to give up equity to reach your business's potential.
