There is no equivalent structure for the word “把” in English, so you can start to build your sense of the word “把” by imitating a lot of examples sentences as you learn.

A: 我看完了这本书。 （A2）
Wǒ kàn wán le zhè běnshū.

B: 我把这本书看完了。 （B1）
Wǒ bǎ zhè běnshū kàn wán le.

I finished the book.

If sentence A can be said, why is there sentence B? Why is it necessary to use the word “把”?
The word 把 is more concerned with the effect or result of something, so sentence B emphasizes the change, the book is 'finished'.
