The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) held a meeting in Isiolo County to roll out guidelines and a report that it prepared over the past year with support from KOICA and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
The guidelines include social media guidelines, the Kenya National Action Plan against hate speech, and a gender analysis on dangerous speech. The report targets nine counties across the country, including Isiolo, Mandera, and Laikipia.
NCIC urged the political class to exercise caution, especially as the country approaches the 2027 elections, and called for peace and cohesion regardless of political affiliation. The Isiolo County Government pledged its support for the implementation of the report.
