This one is for the empaths, the unsung heroes of society. We are the glue that hold families and relationships together; the ones who held the door for someone, smiled at a stranger, gave a kind word to a child, a listening ear to a friend, even though we ourselves sometimes feel like we can barely get out of bed in the morning, feel like we are crumbling inside, yet refuse to ask for help because we don't want to burden others with our own suffering.
But although your efforts may go unacknowledged, unnoticed, unappreciated, just know they ARE remembered AND appreciated by the real ones. Speaking from experience, I can recall many a time when I was having a rotten day or even week, and it became a whole lot better simply from a stranger extending a gesture of kindness. All these years later I can't remember their names or even what they looked like, but their kindness is what stuck with me.
And just remember you should show kindness out of your own heart, not to earn validation from others. You deserve love simply for being your amazing self. Plus your actions inspire others to perform acts of kindness. So continue to do what you do, because even when it doesn't feel like your actions are making a difference, they DO.
