In this video, we explore the country’s unique car-shuttle trains — “rail ferries” that carry vehicles straight through the Alps. From the modern 19-km Vereina tunnel to the high-capacity Lötschberg Shuttle, these routes act as essential links in the national road network, keeping remote valleys connected year-round.
