Joined a day trip from the "Best of Switzerland" tour from Zurich to Jungfraujoch.
We rode a bus from Zurich to Interlaken for a brief 30 minutes stop for some
shopping. Then from Interlaken to the Grindelwald Terminal to ride the
Eiger Express gondola to the Eiger Glacier station.
Then changed to the the Junfrau Railway to the Jungfraujoch - the highest
railway station in Europe. A short tunnel walk from the train station to
the Sphinx Observatory, which is very much a tourist center now with
restaurants, shops and tours around the area.
The most interesting tour is a walk in the "Plateau" which is snow covered outdoor
plateau and a Swiss flag. Tourists lined up to take photos holding on to the flag.
Another interesting tour is the Ice Palace, which is carved out from the natural
glacier ice.
On the return trip, we took a train from Jungfraujoch to Lauterbrunnen, where
the famous Staubbach Fall is located.
