   • How to Prepare a Canvas for Watercolor  

In this video, I paint a boat scene on wood. It's hardboard which is often used for painting. I used a paint roller to create texture that's similar to watercolor paper.

I demonstrate some of the basic watercolor techniques, such as how to paint a sky, how to lift colors etc. I start by painting in the basic gradient of the sky and the water. Then I add the trees, boats, and boat docks.

There are a few moments where I show how I fix mistakes in a watercolor painting.
