This was one of my absolute favorite track in all of Octopath Traveler 2. I love how it started out really subtle with a simple scale in Dorian mode and then builds up into something truly gorgeous and epic. I don't know exactly why, but as I worked on the arrangement, I kept hearing the famous melody Dies Irae in my head, so in the second half, I finally broke down and threw in a direct quote (see you you all can locate it).
In the gaming world this year I've made my way through quite a few titles, but I believe Octopath 2 still holds my favorite soundtrack thus far. We still have quite a few arrangements from the game in the pipeline. I wish I had time to post with more frequency! I don't quite know what happened, summer was incredibly busy, and now it's about to end and I'm even busier. I guess that's just my life at the moment!
