Gameplay de los 5 primeros niveles de Alien Trilogy para PlayStation, desarrollado por Probe Entertainment y publicado por Acclaim Entertainment en 1996. Lo juego en el emulador DuckStation con las mejoras permite este emulador: HD (resolución interna de 4K, y además SSAAx8) widescreen hack y corrección de geometría (para evitar los polígonos "bailongos" propios de la consola). Casi lo podríamos considerar una versión remasterizada. Mejorado de esta forma con DuckStation se convierte en la mejor versión gráficamente hablando, muy por encima de las versiones de PC MS-DOS y Saturn. En lo único que sería mejor la versión de MS-DOS es en control, que no es poca cosa. El control en PS1 no es nada cómodo (en PC tampoco es una maravilla, pero mejor). Así que a la hora de jugar este juego hay que escoger entre gráficos o control.

Sobre el juego, como bien indica su nombre Alien Trilogy nos lleva por escenarios y a enfrentarnos a enemigos de las 3 primeras películas de Alien. Hay opiniones dispares sobre este juego, algunos lo consideran de los mejores juegos basados en la famosa franquicia, otros un juego mediocre. Lo cierto es que en lo jugable no aporta nada visto en otros FPS de la época, y jugablemente no ha envejecido tan bien. Pero está bien ambientado y aun consigue mantenerte en tensión. Merece la pena que le eches un vistazo si te gusta la saga Alien.

Gameplay of the first 5 levels of Alien Trilogy for PlayStation, developed by Probe Entertainment and published by Acclaim Entertainment in 1996. I play it in the DuckStation emulator with the improvements allowed by this emulator: HD (4K internal resolution, and also SSAAx8) widescreen hack and geometry correction (to avoid the "trembling" polygons of the console). We could almost consider it a remastered version. Improved in this way it becomes the best version in the graphics side, far above the PC MS-DOS and Saturn versions. The only thing the MS-DOS version would be better at is control, which is no small thing. The control on PS1 is not comfortable at all (on PC it's not a marvel either, but better). So when playing this game you have to choose between graphics or control.

About the game, as its name indicates Alien Trilogy takes us through scenarios and to face enemies of the first 3 Alien movies. There are mixed opinions about this game, some consider it one of the best games based on the famous franchise, others consider it a mediocre game. The truth is that in the gameplay it doesn't show anything new seen in other FPS of the time, and gameplay hasn't aged so well. But it's well set and still manages to keep you in tension. It's worth a look if you like the Alien saga.
