This is Episode 4 in the Europractice series ‘Introduction to Photonic Packaging’
The final webinar provides some basic examples of packages historically developed at the Photonics Packaging Group of Tyndall National Institute. Examples are taken from tele-, data-comms and medical device prototypes. They demonstrate how various previously-discussed aspects of packaging come together in design as well as assembly. Finally, the webinar briefly introduces the importance of PIC/system design rules in the scaling of manufacturing and the reduction of the cost of packaging.
