Описание: My name is Wendy de Boer and I meet photographers around the world to do photo team ups with them. Together we learn about photography, culture social themes and life. I initiated my project Shoot with a Local in 2017. Besides my job as a flight attendant I felt so passionate about photography that I wanted to develop my skills to better express myself visually. It persuaded me to meet photographers all over the world on my working trips and do these so called ‘photo team-ups’ with them. Till now I have been so fortunate to meet some very special and inspiring photographers and those meetings changed my life and my vision on photography completely. These new insights have made me want to take a different course, a new direction in my life.
 
It convinced me to take the hardest decision I ever made ...
 
AFTER 20 YEARS OF BEING A FLIGHT ATTENDANT, I RESIGNED MY JOB !!!

This is my 'farewel' video to my wonderful job.
It's a compilation of my feelings around this life changing move and you will see images of my last flight and at the end you will be able to see all the wonderful 'blue' feel good pictures I took of all these KLM crews I was able to meet throughout my career. They made my life awesome and I will miss them very much.

From now on I will take you on my journey to re-design my new life after having been a flight attendant for 20 years to a woman following her heart and with a purposeful mission ...

THE STORY BEHIND @shootwithalocal :
I was a KLM stewardess for almost 20 years before I resigned my job with a huge passion for photography. Through my activities on social media I got to know many fellow photographers. They started to invite me in their hometowns and I decided to meet them on my trips. Soon I found out that there is a special story behind every photographer, and I also realized that in the end we are all looking for the same ‘exposure for our work’. This is not easy nowadays in the over saturated market called photography. So I wanted to do it differently. Why should we all sit on our “own Island” if it is way more interesting to learn from each other and share your passion. I personally found out that by looking up for connection you can create a bigger goal then only stay focussed on yourself.
My life quote is:
“Believe in yourself.. but also in others”

This is exactly where my project @shootwithalocal started. It is a non-profit initiative with the aim of connecting people and the world and sharing the passion for photography. In the video documentaries about our photography meet ups I show the viewer who is the photographer behind the camera, how we work together, how we share our passion, how we inspire each other, how we connect with other locals and we learn about photography and even more important about life! All this combined with the final results of the photos included.

My main goal with this project is “celebrating humanity through photography “

One day, I hope to be able to bring all the photographers together with their work in one place, in one exhibition. We bring the world together and show everyone that it is more beautiful by connecting and sharing and helping each other.
