How to cook Lumpiang Shanghai | Fat Daddy's Kusina
Lumpiang shanghai (also known as Filipino spring rolls, or simply lumpia or lumpiya), is a Filipino deep-fried appetizer consisting of a mixture of giniling (ground pork) wrapped in a thin egg crêpe. Lumpiang Shanghai is regarded as the most basic type of lumpia in Filipino cuisine, and it is usually smaller and thinner than other lumpia variants.
Ingredients:
1 Kilo ground pork
1 medium carrot, minced
1 garlic bulb, minced
2 medium onion, minced
kinchay, minced
2 eggs
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 tbsp finely ground black pepper
lumpia wrapper or egg crêpe
Procedure:
Combine all ingredients and mix well.
Scoop a spoonfull of mixture and put it in the middle of the lumpia wrapper.
Roll and seal.
Prepare the pan and heat the oil.
Drop the lumpiang shanghai one at a time.
Set the stove to medium fire and let it cook until it becomes golden brown.
Enjoy!
