A helicopter has rescued several people trapped by floodwaters on the Meiringspoort Pass, which is located between Oudtshoorn in the Little Karoo and Beaufort West.
The Pass was closed following heavy rainfall in the area.
Earlier, 11 people were rescued from mountainous areas cut off by floodwaters near Oudtshoorn. The persistent rainfall has also caused several road closures.
