David S. Broder, National Political Correspondent, The Washington Post
"Winner of the Pulitzer in 1973 for ""distinguished commentary"". Voted ""most respected"" political reporter by fellow Washington, D.C., correspondents. David Broder is noted for his objectivity and respected for his insight. His column appears in several hundred newspapers across the country, including The Oregonian. His credentials for covering the political scene go back to his first job as a reporter on a newspaper owned by Adlai Stevenson's family. He has covered every presidential campaign since 1956.
With the 1984 presidential election just a year and two days away, the City Club is pleased that unique circumstances permit Mr. Broder to be in the Pacific Northwest to discuss with us the issues and the candidates. Broder is in the Pacific Northwest to cover the Evans-Lowry race for the seat left vacant by the death of Senator Henry Jackson."
