Historic City school transformed into community hub

A once-forgotten landmark in West Baltimore's Upton community, the former all-Black Henry Highland Garnet School, also known as PS103, has been revitalized into a modern amenity center.
The school, which once educated Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, sat vacant for two decades before being restored under the vision of Dr. Al Hathaway, CEO of Beloved Community Services Corporation.
"It's something about education being a passport," Hathaway said. "And I think the students who came through these doors used that passport to better society in many ways."
