Today was the launch day for route BL1 (aka the Bakerloop), so I thought I'd go out and do the route. The route is very nice, especially the flyover that the route uses (towards Lewisham) to go over Bricklayers Arms. The route does not take long at all to do, taking around 25-45 minutes to complete the 8 mile journey. 25-45 minutes is insane for a route that is 8 miles long, but there are barely any stops on the route so it is a bit understandable. My attempt took around 35 minutes. It's quite weird that the iBus for the Lewisham terminus on this route is set to 'Lewisham, Town Centre' (which is a new iBus recording because of the gap between 'to' and the destination), even though it terminates at the same stop in Lewisham (Molesworth Street) as the 21, 129, 380 and 436, where all of those routes have the iBus for the Lewisham terminus as 'Lewisham, Shopping Centre'. The LEDs on the vehicles for the BL1 even say 'Lewisham SHOPPING CENTRE' for the Lewisham terminus! The route is operated by Go-Ahead London from their Waterloo garage using Alexander Dennis Enviro400EV Citys (that used to be at Northumberland Park garage for route 230). The route runs between Waterloo Station and Lewisham, Town Centre, and runs via the following locations: Elephant & Castle Station, Burgess Park, Ilderton Road, New Cross Gate Station and Lewisham Station, before terminating at Molesworth Street. Anyways enjoy the visual!
