Описание: Northern Shaanxi is the old revolutionary region, the central part of the Loess Plateau in China, including the cities of Yulin and Yan'an in Shaanxi Province, which are both in the northern part of Shaanxi, hence the name Northern Shaanxi. The topography is high in the northwest and low in the southeast. With a total area of 92,521.4 square kilometers, it is formed on the basis of ancient terrain made up of Mesozoic bedrock, covered with Cenozoic laterite and a very thick layer of loess, and then cut by running water and soil erosion. The basic landform type is loess plateau, beam, mount, ditch and loess, which is the plateau surface left after the modern gully division of loess plateau.
