05/27/17: First thunderstorm Experience in the camper!

We had a great weekend over the first Memorial Day of camper-ownership. Matt's parent's came out with their camper and we camped in two lots next to each other.
Since our little camper is so easy to maneuver, Matt was able to pull us in, facing backwards so that our front door and our parent's front doors faced each other, creating an outdoor courtyard between the two.
My parent's live 5 minutes away from the Lake campground we were staying at and we invited the kids and nephews and nieces over for lunch. We pulled our two picnic tables together, rolled out our awnings, grilled some burgers and dogs and had a wonderful time together!
This pop up storm Saturday morning came out of nowhere and caught both Me and my mother and father in-law off guard. We had committed the rookie mistake of leaving the awnings out overnight. We both had lights clipped on the end of the awnings when the wind picked up.
We had to rush out, pull the awning lights down, roll in the awnings, pick up the bag chairs and grab the patio before it blew away. I don't know how we made it in time!!!
