The Vine and the Offering
(Intro)
(Focus on the heart as soil, yielding to the Gardener’s touch)
(Verse 1)
Yahweh, my God, you are the true source of all life.
I come before you, Abba, to offer my body as a “living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God” (“Romans 12:1”).
I am the branch, and Adonai Yeshua, You are the Vine;
I hear Your word in my heart:
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing” (“John 15:5”).
(Verse 2)
O Abba, Gardener of my soul, look upon my life.
Prune what hinders me and let Your fire purify my heart.
I pray to “walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God” (“Colossians 1:10”).
Grant me the grace to “bear fruits in keeping with repentance” (“Luke 3:8”),
That my life may prove I belong to You.
(Chorus)
(The soul’s surrender to the Gardener's will)
Abba, I surrender to Thy hand; prune the branch and till the land.
Not my will, but Thine be done, through the Spirit and the Son.
Let my life be a garden fair, breathing incense-prayer everywhere.
(Bridge)
I lift the prayer of Saint Ignatius to You, Yahweh:
“Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and my entire will... Give me only your love and your grace, that is enough for me” (St. Ignatius of Loyola, “Suscipe”).
And with Saint Francis, I cry out to Adonai Yeshua: “Lord, make me an instrument of your peace: where there is hatred, let me sow love... where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy” (St. Francis of Assisi, “Prayer for Peace”).
(Verse 3)
Fill me with Your Spirit, Abba, that I may manifest Your character.
Let the world see “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control” (“Galatians 5:22-23”).
I seek to be “filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Adonai Yeshua Christ, to the glory and praise of God” (“Philippians 1:11”).
Let me “bear fruit—fruit that will last” (“John 15:16”).
(Outro)
(A quiet declaration of dependence and trust in the Father's provision)
