This is a traditional Kerala dish that combines soft, steamed rice dumplings (Pidi) with a rich and aromatic chicken curry . The Pidi is made by dry roasting rice flour with grated coconut and salt, then gently mixing it with hot water to form a soft dough. Small balls are shaped and boiled until tender, with a touch of coconut oil added to keep them moist and fragrant.
The Chicken Curry is a spicy, flavorful curry cooked with marinated chicken, sautéed onions, ginger-garlic-green chili paste, chopped tomatoes, and aromatic spices including turmeric, chili powder, coriander, cumin, pepper, and cardamom. Fresh coconut, curry leaves, and coconut milk are added to enhance the aroma and give a creamy texture. The dish is finished with chopped coriander leaves for a fresh, vibrant touch.
