'Seven Yellow Gypsies' (Nic Jones Arrangement)

Описание: I've sure missed sharing snippets of tunes I learn or songs I write, so here we go. So many times I hold myself back from learning songs I love, and when I finally get round to learning them, I always suprise myself. Some lessons will constant be teaching us. I just learned this a couple days ago and I don't mind that it's a bit rusty and there's some mistakes, as it's good to share whilst learning, and I've also been eager to share my love about the singer behind this song.

Nic Jones' music has become very close to my heart these past few years, and his unique style of guitar playing and arrangements of folk songs has become instrumental in my development as a modern Folk artist. Any fan of his will know just how prolific and influential he has been in the Folk world and yet he still managed to coast just below the tides of the mainstream Folk scene, which makes the constant listening and discovery of his music ever more immersive.

There's a lovely ten minute documentary on YouTube about the man, his tragic accident which has meant he hasn't be able to play guitar since he was at his peak, and how other prolific artists from Anais Mitchell to Bob Dylan claim him to be on of their dearest influences.
One of my closest and favourite modern acts Bonny Light Horseman also express his influence by naming the band after Nic's arrangement of the English folk song under the same name.

In this version, I've also tried to incorporate the percussive flick of the middle finger, which I believe to be an invention of Nic's and you can hear most prominently in 'Canadee I-O', which is the first song that drew me in close to his music.
