El nombre del ciclo "Rabeldía" combina en un juego de palabras el nombre del instrumento (rabel), y la palabra "día" indicando que a Germán el Caminante le llegó al fin el día de tocar el rabel. Por otro lado, "Rabeldía" refiere por su semejanza a "rebeldía", que es quizás el espíritu que ronda al rabel como instrumento anárquico, a su música e incluso a las letras tradicionales asociadas a él: las rabeladas.

The name of the series "Rabeldía" combines a pun on the name of the instrument ("Rabel", rebec in english) and the word "día" (day in english) indicating that Germán el Caminante came on playing the rebec. In addition, "Rabeldía" has similarity to "rebeldía" (rebellion in english), which is perhaps the spirit that haunts the "rabel" as anarchic instrument, his music and traditional letters associated with him: the "rabeladas" (funny songs with rabel).
