Описание: The Purcell School Chamber Soloists returned to Wigmore Hall with a programme celebrating the anniversaries of Maurice Ravel and Luciano Berio. The concert featured Le Tombeau de Ravel, a new work written for the ensemble by Robert Saxton, who studied under Berio. Saxton, a composer deeply immersed in Ravel’s music and actively involved in mentoring young composers, drew inspiration from Ravel’s opera L'enfant et les sortilèges for this piece. Also featured on the programme were Berio’s Folk Songs and three works by Ravel: Pièce en forme de Habanera, Tzigane, and La Valse (arranged for piano four hands by Iain Farrington).
