I didn't knock back. Not because i was smart - because twenty-four hours earlier, someone had slipped a note under my door that said exactly that. no explanation.
That was rule three. there was nine rule in total. some i was handed. some i found myself. one i still haven't fully worked out. this is the story of the ffour months i lived on the fourth floor of 14 olatunji close- the rules that kept me intact, the one night i almost broke them, and the thing i eventualy understood had been living in that building long before i arrived.
