Описание: Special Programs Minister Esther Murugi has called on residents in flood and mudslide prone areas to heed warnings given to them by the government and its agencies to avoid calamities like the ones witnessed in Keiyo, West Pokot and Nandi areas. The Minister said had the Elgeiyo Marakwet County residents heeded the warning issued by the meteorological department, no life would have been lost. Meanwhile, the government has made arrangements to provide shelter and food for the over 70 families affected by the floods in Nyando and 500 families affected by the Keiyo mudslides. Murugi also called on the Inspector General of Police to deploy police officers in the area to help in search and rescue efforts in the area around river nyando where three 3 people are still missing.
