In this video, we wander through Whitby’s old town, taking in views of the harbour and the River Esk before heading uphill to the iconic ruins of Whitby Abbey. Towering above the town, the abbey has links to early Christianity in England and later inspired Bram Stoker’s Dracula, adding a gothic edge to Whitby’s already dramatic setting.

We also pass through the narrow lanes of the old town and explore the area around St Mary’s Church, whose clifftop graveyard offers sweeping views across the coastline.
