The Gift is an ode to the longboarding culture of Muizenberg and the talented female surfers who are often found in the backline. This film was born from my appreciation of this little False Bay corner, and a growing admiration for feminine style on a surfboard - something gentle and effortless that cannot be imitated.
These women all bring something different to the lineup, yet all share the same graceful ease when riding waves. This has been many months of filming, and getting to know these girls through their surfing has been a pleasure.
