Mainpat is a small hill station in the Surguja district of Chhattisgarh on a tabletop mountain at an elevation of 1085 m. It's aslo called 'The Shimla of Chhattisgarh'. It is situated at a distance of around 50 km uphill from Ambikapur, a prominent city of Chhattisgarh. One can come up to Raipur or Bilaspur by train and then avail bus or car to Mainpat via Ambikapur. The winding roads through the colourful forests from Ambikapur to Mainpat is surely a rider's paradise. There is a Tibetan settlement in Mainpat, which makes the place more interesting and colorful. In our previous episode we have shown our journey from Netarhat (Jharkhand) to Mainpat, via Mahuadanr, Lodh waterfall, Kushmi, Ambikapur, etc. covering a distance of total 237 km. The places worth visiting in and around Mainpat are Mehta Point (for sunrise and sunset), Fish Point and Waterfall, Tiger Point and Waterfall, Tsori Monastery, Gonpo Tseten Monastery, Jaljali, Ulta Pani, Thinthini Patthar, Parpatia Sunset Point, etc. We have tried to present a detailed tour of all these places.
