Here's the next dual vid for this series. "Sweet Tooth" was big fun to track and the geetar solo during the bridge is one of my favorite moments on the record. After drum tracking was wrapped, everyone involved went for lunch with the intention to come back and knock out percussion overdubs. Aaron and I got to chattin' and one of us made a crack about how it'd be funny if the end of the tune sounded like an expansive percussion 'orchestra' suddenly entered the mix. I brought a box full of percussion stuff, so one by one I'd go through and play different rhythms for the final four bars; some I can hear in the mix, others were either omitted or very low in volume for cleanliness/mix concerns (I also tracked maracas and guiro). I thought we were totally finished and I was breaking down my gear when I found a good ol' vibraslap hiding in my box o' toys. I told Justin (Bonfini) to reload the session and didn't tell them what I was doing. He punched me in at the end and I 'vibraslapped' -- the final note of drum tracking, hehe. It was a ball, thus my laughter at the end.

"Black Box" is a barnburner of a tune and probably one of the hardest to play on the record.

"Sweet Tooth" notes:
-intro - 16ths on tambourine with an accent on the downbeats, tough stuff!
-0:24 - fill-in somewhat complements guitar run
-2:59 - 3:05 - wacky fill-in ramps up for the busy guitar stuff that follows, for which I tried to mirror the excitement of and musically complement
-3:18 - quasi-latin groove, which prompted the aforementioned conversation
