Stunning Hike to Laguna 69 | Lima to Huaraz, Peru

Описание: Peru is a hikers dream! We flew into Lima, Peru and stayed in the coastal town of Miraflores, and then bused from Lima to Huaraz. We spent two days hiking in Huascarán National Park and stayed in an alpine hut called, “Refugio Peru" siting at 15,300 feet elevation. We hiked to Laguna 69, one of Peru's most beautiful alpine lakes.

Laguna 69 and Refugio Peru is situated in Cordillera Blanca, the world’s highest tropical mountain range. Huascarán National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site and biosphere reserve. This area is also home to the tallest mountain in Peru, and 4th tallest peak in the Western Hemisphere, Mount Huascarán sitting at 22,205 feet tall.

During this hike you are surrounded by 360 views of jagged glaciated mountain peaks. We both got mild altitude sickness, but that didn’t stop us from taking in all the beauty. We travelled to Peru in Sept and it was definitely low season in this area.
