Where the Light Comes Home...
Tonight’s sunset at Burton Chace Park felt like the world slowing down just enough to notice everything. The sky stretched into soft golds and blues, the marina calm and reflective, the boats gently rocking as if they were exhaling after a long day.
The sea lions were piled on top of one another, completely at ease, snuggling like they knew something we forget sometimes, that rest is sacred. Watching them made me smile. There was such comfort in how naturally they leaned into each other.
Nearby, two pelicans stood close together, looking like they were deep in conversation. I watched as one of them suddenly lifted into the air, wings wide. It felt like a reminder that stillness and movement can live in the same moment.
The fishing boat moved through the harbor with birds following close behind, the sky painted in soft color as if nature itself was blessing the scene. Everything felt connected, gentle, and whole.
And as I held my little note with the words, “What you’re looking for is not out there. It’s in you,” it landed differently tonight. Watching the water, the birds, the sea lions, I realized how often nature mirrors what we already carry inside. Peace isn’t something we chase. It’s something we remember.
These evenings remind me why I keep coming back. The beauty is endless when you’re willing to pause long enough to see it.
Capturing beauty, sharing light.

Evening Gratitude Thought:
Tonight, I watched sea lions snuggle, pelicans converse, and birds trail a fishing boat beneath a painted sky. The sunset felt like a gentle reminder that what we’re searching for isn’t somewhere else. It already lives within us. Grateful for quiet moments that feel like coming home
