Tonight, at Venice Beach, the sky softened into layers of gold, coral, and quiet blue, like the day was slowly exhaling. The neon lights flickered on near the boardwalk while the palms stood tall against the fading light, silhouettes guarding the edge of the ocean.

I walked past the graffiti walls and open sand, watching people pause without realizing they were pausing. Sunset has that effect. It slows everyone down just enough to notice. Surfers floated patiently in the water, waiting for one more wave. A sailboat drifted along the horizon as if it had nowhere specific to go… just exactly where it was meant to be.

The moon appeared early, floating beside wispy clouds that looked almost painted. The lifeguard tower turned into a quiet shadow while the sky burned brighter for just a few final moments before slipping into dusk.

I held up my message against the sky that said, “Your journey is your own.” And in that moment, it felt true in a deeper way. No comparisons. No timelines. Just presence. Just gratitude for the path unfolding one sunset at a time.

Venice always reminds me that beauty doesn’t rush. It simply arrives when we are willing to look.
