Donated by her daughter, this lovely lace and tulle ballgown wedding dress was worn for her mother's formal wedding on July 18, 1953. When I asked Christie if there were any stories or history she would like to share of her parents and their wedding, this was her response: " Anne Bender and Robert Holt met at a friend's party in Lynchburg, Va., where Dad was raised and where Mom went to college at Randolph Macon. They were married on July 18, 1953. The wedding was "super fancy" and quite large with 7 bridesmaids, 7 groomsmen and many guests. Dad looked very handsome in a tailcoat, and Mom's ball gown was supported by 3 underskirts - 2 with hoops!
The wedding was held in an Episcopal Church in Bethlehem, Pa., with the reception at Saucon Valley Country Club. They honeymooned at Indian Rocks Beach, Fl." Thank you for sharing that Christie!
