Saint Bernard of Clairvaux (20 August): Be Faithful Children of the Blessed Virgin

Описание: In this inspiring homily, we celebrate St. Bernard of Clairvaux, Doctor of the Church and great Marian devotee. Born in 1090 in Burgundy, France, St. Bernard entered the Cistercian order with unmatched zeal, inspiring family and friends to follow. As abbot of Clairvaux, his holiness and wisdom drew kings, bishops, and even popes to seek his counsel. He defended the papacy, promoted Church reform, preached the Second Crusade, and earned the title Doctor Mellifluus for his eloquence. Above all, St. Bernard’s deep love for the Blessed Virgin Mary shines in his famous exhortation: “Look to the star, call upon Mary.”
