Monday 2nd March at Carlisle. It started out as a normal day with the usual variety of passenger and freight trains for a Monday. Then in the late afternoon I was monitoring 4S44, the John G Russell contract intermodal - it was going slow and eventually stopped after passing the summit at Shap. One Avanti train was held at Tebay, another at Oxenholme with the Lumo Route Learner behind and so on!
