In this video, we will learn Halogenation of Benzene (Benzene Ring) in a simple and easy way.
Halogenation of benzene is an important Electrophilic Substitution Reaction (EAS) in which a hydrogen atom of benzene ring is replaced by a halogen atom (Cl / Br) in presence of a Lewis acid catalyst.

✅ Catalyst required: FeCl₃ / AlCl₃ (for chlorination)
✅ Catalyst required: FeBr₃ (for bromination)
✅ Product: Halobenzene
🧪 Chlorination of Benzene:
C₆H₆ + Cl₂ —(FeCl₃ / AlCl₃)→ C₆H₅Cl + HCl
🧪 Bromination of Benzene:
C₆H₆ + Br₂ —(FeBr₃)→ C₆H₅Br + HBr
