The difference between a short-term financial plan and a long-term plan. A three-step recipe for long-term financial planning: (1) Forecast sales, (2) Prepare pro forma financial statements, (3) Estimate financing needs and determine sources to meet them. Sources of discretionary financing (i.e., meeting DFN or AFN).
