Luke Stein
Finance, economics, and at-home video production (for teaching and presenting) from Luke Stein, PhD, Asst. Professor of Finance at Babson College
I earned my PhD in Economics from Stanford and an AB in Applied Mathematics from Harvard
I’ve taught at high school through PhD levels at Stanford and Arizona State Universities, with a commitment to students widely awarded, including as Babson’s “Graduate Professor of the Year” (selected by students as the faculty member “who personifies teaching excellence… and whose personal standards of quality and caring extend beyond the classroom”) and with Stanford’s Gores Award (the university’s “highest award for excellence in teaching”)
My research sits at the intersection of corporate finance and labor economics, including work on financial history, entrepreneurial finance, uncertainty, and the economics of discrimination
I’ve worked in NYC and Tokyo for Bain & Co., served on the Obama–Biden Transition Team, and at the NYC Dept. of Education
