FLUKE FISHING IN HEAVY CURRENT! USE YOUR TROLLING MOTOR TO CONTROL YOUR DRIFT TO CATCH MORE FISH!

Описание: When the tide is ripping, it can be hard to get stay in the strike zone. Using your trolling motor effectively to slow your drift down will allow you to catch while others are struggling. As the day went on and we fished near the bridge, our average drift speed was around 3mph which is way too fast to catch fluke. The other boats were struggling to maintain bottom contact, but we were able to continue to catch by using the trolling motor to slow down the drift. This little trick allowed us to continue to keep the rods bent while others were scrambling to find an area with less current. While drifting the bay we also had a close encounter with a shark that eagerly chased down my bucktail and took off running with it. These kind of encounters are the reason you will never find me swimming in the bay. Most people think that the sharks don't come in that close to shore but that is the furthest thing from the truth. If there is water and bait, you may come face to face with a hungry shark. Had a nice friendly visit from NYPD Harbor Patrol. Not the greatest day for keeper sized fluke but we had an amazing time catching countless short fish on light tackle and tons of laughs. That's what it's all about.
